How to load and run a Deriv bot

From login to your first bot trade in about five minutes. This guide covers the free bots, importing your own XML file, and the settings you must check first.

Six steps to your first bot trade

  1. Open TraderScheme and log in with Deriv. Go to traderrscheme.com and press Log In. You sign in on Deriv's own secure page, then return to TraderScheme. Your Deriv password is never shared with TraderScheme.
  2. Switch to your demo account. Open the account menu at the top and choose your demo (virtual) account. Every Deriv account comes with demo funds for practice.
  3. Open Free Bots and press Load. Go to the Free Bots tab, read the card for the bot you want, and press Load. The strategy opens in the bot builder.
  4. Check the stake and limits. In the bot builder, find the stake, take-profit and stop-loss blocks. Set them before anything else. Small numbers first.
  5. Press Run and watch the run panel. Press Run. The run panel shows every contract, your wins and losses, and your total profit or loss in real time.
  6. Stop and review. Press Stop at any time. Review the transactions, note the longest losing run, and only then decide whether to try a real account.
No Deriv account yet? Create one free on Deriv. It comes with a demo account, so you can practise without risking money.

How to import your own DBot XML file

Got a bot file from somewhere else? Deriv bots are saved as .xml files, and TraderScheme opens them the same way Deriv's own bot builder does.

  1. Open the Bot Builder tab.
  2. Press Import (or Load) and choose My computer.
  3. Pick the .xml file. The blocks appear in the workspace.
  4. Check every block before you run it. Only run bots from sources you trust, and always test on demo first.

Settings to check before every run

SettingWhy it matters
AccountMake sure you are on demo while testing. It is easy to forget.
StakeThe amount per trade. Deriv's minimum is 0.35 USD.
Stop lossThe most you are willing to lose this session.
Take profitWhere the bot stops after a good run.
Martingale / stake listHow fast stakes grow after losses. See the strategy guide.
MarketWhich index the bot trades. See volatility indices explained.

Reading the run panel

  • Summary: total stake, total payout, number of runs, wins and losses, and profit or loss.
  • Transactions: every contract with its entry, exit and result. Use this to find your longest losing run.
  • Journal: messages from the bot, such as "profit threshold reached".

Common mistakes

  • Running on a real account before testing on demo.
  • Leaving a bot running unattended with no stop loss.
  • Raising the stake after a few wins and giving it all back in one losing run.
  • Trusting bots sold with "guaranteed profit" claims. No bot can guarantee profit.
Before you run any bot: test it on a demo account first, set a stop-loss you can live with, and remember that a bot only follows rules. It cannot predict the market, and past results do not guarantee future ones.

Load it in one click
